Directorate of ICT and MIS

The Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Management Information Systems (MIS) is at the core of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education's digital transformation and data management initiatives. The Directorate is responsible for developing, maintaining, and securing the university's ICT infrastructure and digital platforms.

The current and Pioneer of this directorate is Dr. (Mrs.) Omolara Olubunmi Adeboye a distinguished Nigerian academic and administrator currently serving as the Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Management Information Systems (MIS) at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo (EAUED). 

 

Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

This branch focuses on the physical and technical infrastructure. It ensures that the hardware and connectivity required for daily operations are functional and secure.

  • Infrastructure Management: Maintaining servers, data centers, and campus-wide networking (Wi-Fi and Ethernet).

  • Hardware Support: Managing computers, printers, and multimedia equipment for staff and students.

  • Cybersecurity: Protecting the organization’s data from breaches, managing firewalls, and ensuring antivirus compliance.

  • Technical Support: Operating a "Help Desk" to troubleshoot user issues.

 

Management Information Systems (MIS)

This branch focuses on data and software. It ensures that information flows correctly through the organization to help leadership make informed decisions.

  • Database Management: Organizing and securing vast amounts of data, such as student records, payroll, and inventory.

  • Software Development: Creating or maintaining custom applications, such as a Student Information System (SIS) or an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) portal.

  • Data Analytics: Generating reports and statistics for the executive board or government regulators.

  • Systems Integration: Ensuring that different software platforms (like HR and Finance) can communicate with each other

 

COMMON OBJECTIVES

  • Digital Transformation: Moving manual paper-based processes into automated digital workflows.

  • E-Learning Support: Providing the platforms (like Moodle or Canvas) needed for modern education.

  • Policy Development: Creating "Acceptable Use Policies" for how staff and students use technology.

  • Training: Conducting workshops to improve the digital literacy of the organization’s members.
