The Directorate of Inter-Community and Alumni Relations serves as the vital bridge between Emmanuel Alayande University of Education and its surrounding communities, as well as its growing network of alumni. The current and Pioneer of this directorate is Dr. Akanni Olurotimi Oladayo a distinguished academic and administrator at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUED), Oyo, Nigeria. He serves as a key member of the Directorate of Inter-Community and Alumni Relations, actively participating in initiatives that strengthen the university's ties with its alumni and surrounding communities.

Established to ensure the university does not exist in an "ivory tower," this directorate focuses on social responsibility and lifelong institutional loyalty.

1. Leadership

The Directorate is led by Dr. Akanni Olurotimi Oladayo. As the Director, he oversees strategies to integrate the university’s interests with those of the local Oyo community and the global alumni body. His role involves balancing administrative diplomacy with strategic fundraising and public relations.

2. Core Functions: The "Double-Sided" Bridge

The directorate manages two distinct but overlapping areas:

A. Alumni Relations (The Internal Network)

• Database Management: Maintaining an up-to-date registry of all graduates from the institution’s days as a College of Education to its current University status.

• Fundraising & Endowments: Coordinating alumni-led projects, such as the donation of lecture halls, laboratories, or the institution of scholarships for indigent students.

• Homecoming Events: Organizing alumni reunions, annual lectures, and the induction of final-year students into the Alumni Association.

• Career Mentorship: Connecting current students with successful alumni in various industries for internships, job placements, and career guidance.

B. Inter-Community Relations (The External Network)

• Town-Gown Harmony: Managing the relationship between the university and its host communities (Isokun and Erelu). This involves resolving potential conflicts and ensuring peaceful co-existence.

• Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Coordinating university-led community projects, such as health outreaches, adult literacy programs, or environmental sanitation exercises in Oyo town.

• Security Liaison: Working with local community leaders and security agencies to ensure the safety of students living off-campus in surrounding neighborhoods.

For EAUED, this directorate is essential for:
